A. Stevens :

Hi, I am A. Stevens here to help with your question!

A. Stevens :

Hi Frederick

A. Stevens :

Unfortunately, you can't just connect the LAN cable direct from the DVR and the PC

A. Stevens :

You would need to setup either a switch or a router to connect the two.

A. Stevens :

You might already have a router setup, dependent on what modem you might be using for your internet service

A. Stevens :

If so, you would just need to connect a LAN cable from your DVR to your router

A. Stevens :

And then a LAN cable from your PC to your router

A. Stevens :

and then the two should be able to communicate, assuming they have the right configuration.

A. Stevens :

Please let me know when you return, so that we can continue working on this question. I will respond as soon as possible when I see your reply.

JACUSTOMER-6pf9r16x- :

My lan cable is connected to my router and a cable from my router to my computer as for the configuration I don't know how to do this

A. Stevens :

Ah, I see.

A. Stevens :

Thanks for that information.

A. Stevens :

What Operating System are you using on the computer?

JACUSTOMER-6pf9r16x- :

windows 7 32 bit

A. Stevens :

And when you say you are entering the IP address

A. Stevens :

You are putting that in to the configuration of the supplied software?

JACUSTOMER-6pf9r16x- :

yes

A. Stevens :

Hi Frederick

A. Stevens :

Sorry for the very late response

A. Stevens :

I have been without internet the last few days and was unable to sign in

A. Stevens :

So I think that we would need to make some adjustments in your firewall/router to allow communication to the DVR
