WesPCDr :

Hi, I can help get the instructions for you.I just went through it myself.

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

ok, please enlighten me

WesPCDr :

Follow the steps on this link --> https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1069693?hl=en

WesPCDr :

The first time you run through the setup, you will be prompted to create a cloud account if you have not done so already.

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

The link takes me down the same route I have already followed. The Canon site does not indicate how to set up the printer on the cloud. Please help me with this.

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

How do I set up a cloud account?

WesPCDr :

Did you try adding the printer:

WesPCDr :

nce Google Chrome is installed, follow the steps below to enable the Google Cloud Print connector in Google Chrome.

  1. Turn your printer on.

  2. Log in to your user account on the Windows or Mac computer.

  3. Open Google Chrome.

  4. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.

  5. Select Settings.

  6. Click Show advanced settings.

  7. Scroll down to the “Google Cloud Print” section. Click Add printers.

  8. If prompted, sign in with your Google Account.

WesPCDr :

Here is the sign-up page for Google cloud print --> http://www.google.com/cloudprint/learn/

WesPCDr :

Click on the Try it now link on that page.

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

Oh Dear. Please note - I am using a chromebook not a PC. The printer is supposed to be google cloud print ready.

WesPCDr :

Yes. It's the same steps, there are a few applications that will work with Google Cloud Print.

WesPCDr :

You start by configuring it using Google Chrome.

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

I have tried Try it now numerous times. I am taken back to add a printer and the Canon site!!

WesPCDr :

I'll open the question so other experts can help.

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

ok

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

How do I 'configure my printer using google chrome' from my chromebook? I follow the instructions in the google drive they take me to the Canon website - but there aren't any printer set up instructions there, please take a look for yourself.

JACUSTOMER-lc65oexn- :

I'm sorry about the issue. The previous technician has opted out. I'm a new technician; I believe I can fix this issue for you. If you still need help with this, please try the followings:

STEP 1. First, make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi / wireless network name as with the Chromebook.

- On the printer, press the Setup (wrench/tool) button icon:

, then select / connect to your Wi-Fi / wireless network name.

The authentication page should now print and your printer will ask if the page was successfully printed. If it was select [Yes] and press [OK ], if not select[No]to reprint the authentication page.
  9. On the printed authentication page there will be a unique URL website or your printer in the location highlighted below, type / go to this website into the address bar of your web browser on the Chromebook.

  10. To register your printer with Google Cloud Print you will be asked to log into your Google Account using your Google e-mail address and password. Please use the same google / gmail email address that you are using on the Chromebook.
    - This step must be completed within 14 minutes, if you cannot complete this within 14 minutes you will need to repeat steps 1-10.
