AAATom :

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

I would like to help you get the invoicing show correct values.

Can you, please, tell me do you actually need help with a formula or would you like me to fix/correct your Excel spreadsheet?

Thank you,
Tom

AAATom :

I can do both, just need to know which of the two would you like me to do.

Customer:

need help help with formula

AAATom :

OK, thank you.

AAATom :

You have to set the cell number format to percentage first.

AAATom :

Then the formula for VAT would be:
=C9*0,8

AAATom :

where C9 is the cell with 100 pound total.

AAATom :

The total including VAT would be:

AAATom :

=C9*1,2

AAATom :

or you can sum the total and VAT

AAATom :

=C9+C10

AAATom :

where C10 is the cell with =C9*0,8

AAATom :

It sounds complicated this way, let me prepare an example.

AAATom :

Oh, sorry, I made a mistake

AAATom :

it should be:
=C9*0,2

AAATom :

Please have a look at the example:

Article 1£20,00
Artice 2£40,00
Artice 3£30,00
Article 4£10,00
Total£100,00=SUM(C5:C8)
VAT£20,00=C9*0,2
Total inc. VAT£120,00=C9+C10
AAATom :

The formulas to the right of numbers are what should go into the cells instead of the numbers.

AAATom :

Disregard my previous comment about Number Formatting.

Customer:

just what i need many thanks will try it tomorrow have had

AAATom :

You are welcome!

AAATom :

I am glad I could help!
