My question involves getting some photo-upload software installed - my aim is to put a photo-upload box on the form page. The help I need is just some guidance on getting the programme running on my computer for testing the free try-out version. The installation instructions involve using Windows Explorer IIS server. I uninstalled Wamp and tried to get IIS running but don't seem to have got it right.
UniversalUploader installation UniversalUploader installation is easy. In most cases you should simply extract distribution package to a folder on your web server. Here is the detailed description of installation process for ASP.NET (IIS server) and PHP (IIS and Apache servers): Extract UniversalUploader distribution package on the web server: For Windows: Open Windows Explorer IIS server's root folder (by default it is c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\). For Linux Apache: open the default webserver root folder, something like /usr/local/apache/htdocs. Extract UniversalUploader zip archive to a newUniversalUploaderfolder inside the root folder. We use the root and the name as default in this manual, but you can use any name for the folder or place it into another root.Check permissions for destination upload folder . By default UploadedFiles subfolder. For example for PHP script (default in all samples) default desctination folder is "FileProcessingScripts\PHP\UploadedFiles" folder. For Windows OS : By default, PHP application works under IUSR_<MACHINENAME> user. By default ASP.NET application works under NETWORK SERVICE user in IIS6 and IIS7 (or under ASPNET user in IIS5). You can find which user is used for web applications in IIS management console. You should set NTFS "Write", "Modify", "Read and execute", "Read", "List folders content" permissions for that user to the "UploadedFiles" folder. For *nix OS: set read and write permissions on destination folder. Open http://localhost/UniversalUploader/index.html link in a browser to see some samples. Now you ready to integrate UniversalUploader into your own web page. Note! When you integrate uploader into your web site, you will need to get universal folder from distribution package and one of file processing scripts from FileProcessingScripts folder.
I can install wamp easily enough. I will uninstall ISS then and get back to you in 10 mins to help me with the uploader
OK, I have removed ISS and reinstalled Wamp 2.5. I couldn't see any htdocs but have put a htdocs folder containing all the uploader files straight into the main wamp folder. What next?
