Hi, have recently purchased uniblue power suite and run all programmes, corrected thousands of errors, but still my laptop seems to be underperforming (slow) going through the start up now, start up folder is empty, under msconfig I have windows defender, synaptics pointing device driver, HD audio device panel, launch manager, google desktop, power reg, java (TM) platform SE auto updater 20, google toolbar notifier
Optional Information: Make: ACER Model: Aspire 5535 Already Tried: Uniblue power suite, defrag, pc booster registry cleaner.

That's more than enough. What kind of anti-virus are you using?
McAfee internet security suite.
Try to uninstall it, and see if the performance improves. If it does, install instead Microsoft Security Essentials (free) from HERE.J.
Thanks for that James, just uninstalling now, might have to finish this tomorrow, getting late now and got work in the morning. Do you / can you do remote access?

Hi James, seems to be working a lot better now, there's still one small amount of McAfee installed, which I'll have to find and uninstall, there's a McAfee box in the bottom right hand corner in the 'tool bar' above the start up icons, I will find it and uninstall, thanks very much for help to date - I think I'll be back for more advice, I believe I've got a month before my deposit runs out, thanks again..Bill
