Hello, I'm sean and I hope to help, so your printer, Canon's website says it DOES have wireless capabilities. Do you not have a home network / Router?

Okay excellent, that printer does have wireless capabilities unless there is a malfunction in the printer I am not aware of?
You would need to set that printer up at the printer itself, using the LCD interface on the upper left.
It will likely be under the setup features.

That will have a comprehensive list of how to use your printer, specifically, the wireless lan
After the printer is set up on the network, you can have your iPad use it.

It even gives diagrams and descriptions to print over the Wireless Network

The only steps we haven't covered which I'm a little unsure on is the iPad set up
