I have a kindle Fire that I bought some six months ago and used it once when I went away. Am going away again and find that I cannot switch it on. I bought a new charger and cable but it still doesn't switch on. I have now bought a simple Kindle to take away with me so there is no urgency to get the Fire sorted but I would like your advice please. Helen XXXXX

My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am here to assist you, inorder to resolve your problem please follow these instructions;

First, unplug the Kindle Fire. Next, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release it. Then, press the power button for 2 seconds and release it. Your Kindle Fire should now turn on with no problems. If you have the device plugged in, or hold the button more than 20 seconds, it will not restart properly.

Have held button for 30 seconds then 2 but still nothing.

Does the light come on at any stage ?

Have you tried connecting it to your computer ?
