Hi Peter,
My name is Randy.
I will assist you. You can connect to AT&T's or Verizon's mobile network for Kindle Fire models that include a mobile network connection. If you see one of the mobile indicators (4G, 3G, EDGE, or GPRS), your Kindle Fire is already connected wirelessly.

Your Kindle Fire HDX automatically switches to Wi-Fi when you connect to a Wi-Fi network. If you disconnect from a Wi-Fi network, or if you move out of Wi-Fi range, your Kindle Fire HDX automatically switches to a mobile connection, such as 4G, when enabled.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to show Quick Settings, and then tap Wireless.
  2. Tap Mobile Network.
  3. Next to Mobile Network, tap On.

After you connect to a mobile network, you can set up your data plan.

After you connect to a Wi-Fi network, your Kindle Fire automatically connects to the network again when it's in range. If more than one network is in range, your Kindle Fire automatically connects to the last network used.
