Customer Question

I bought two 32GB cards to record Audio. After recording on both, one card when attached to a reader and connected via USB to my PC detects the card and brings up the file which when clicked shows all the recordings. The second card when put into the reader and connected via USB to my PC - I can see the PC trying to detect the card - either nothing happens or I get message "please insert disc in drive". Could you please help.
Regards.

Michelle :

Hello. My name is Michelle and I will be assisting you today.

Michelle :

connect each card on a computers card reader and format the card then you insert it in the device you are using for recording.

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

Hi. My name is Jayesh.

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

My question is why I am not able to read the second card as there is recording on there - see my original question again. My concern is not about recording additional material.

Michelle :

try to swipe the card remove the one which has the data and insert the 2nd one which is not working to the working slot and check if the device reads the card or not.

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

I have already tried that - I was expecting TheDoctor to assist me with this issue - as I have gone ahead on that basis.

Michelle :

That is what i am trying to do

Michelle :

you can connect the card to a computer see if it reads or not and let me know.

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

Please see my original query - I have already done that and it does not detect anything on the second card.

Michelle :

we need to identify the root cause of the problem then only we can determine the cause whether its the card which is bad or the 2nd memory slot which is bad.

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

I am using the same memory slot for both the cards - one after the other

Michelle :

the second card is either bad or the format is not correct. you can only check the card on a computer and not on the recording device.

Michelle :

if the card is recognized automatically by the computers card reader then you will get a popup saying you need to format the card that means the hardware is good and has been detected by the computer it will format the card and then it will be usable again.

Michelle :

no guarantee about the saved data.

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

Sandisk helpdesk have already suggested what you are suggesting. They said that the card could be corrupted and an engineer can help retrieve the data on it by going through some procedure.

Michelle :

Please check this link and tell me if this helps

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

They did suggest that but were not sure it would help - they said consulting an expert who has previously dealt with this issue is preferable as trial and error could lead to total loss of data if any on the card

Michelle :

so basically your concern is the data am i correct

Michelle :

i will open your question in the open pool if there is any data recovery expert or solution you will definitely get a reply.

JACUSTOMER-ipgoe3ls- :

Thanks Michelle

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,Largest Online Q&A Company.

My name is Siba and I will be assisting you today.

As per your last interaction with my collegue I realize that somehow the data on the memory card is inaccessible while connected via USB .

Click the below link and download the software and install it .

Then connect the card reader and scan for files then you can recover those easily (the above steps will only work if the card is not physically damamged )

In case of physically damaged card you need to take this to data recovery lab.

They will recover 100 % data in most of the case s.

Thanks & Good Luck

Sib
