Hi welcome to JustAnswer,Largest Online Q&A Company. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be assisting you today.
May I know the laptop model number ?
Is it a PACKARD BELL EasyNote TE69KB?
yes tried to remove battery .it would not come out used a small screwdriver as an assist and might have caused some damage.not sure
Now with the AC adapter are you able to Power ON ?
Try to insert the battery slightly inclined position then press downward
battery is still in situ
remove completely once and try to insert again
refuses to budge
please check the above video
initial 20 sec contains the part how to remove the battery
there must be a sliding latch/switch which you need to slide to remove the battery
removed battery and reinserted no joy must have damaged it
you are not able to insert again ?
Try to slide the latch and in that position try to insert battery
Have reinserted still not connecting
not connecting means ?
message says cant connect to battery
You have windows 7 ?
can you click the battery icon
and tell me is it showing charging or not ?
message says no battery detected
can you remove the battery once again and check the contact points Pins
to see anything contact points are broken /damaged
if all contact points seems ok
turn off the laptop completly
and reinsert battery firmly
and power ON again
and check the battery status
pins ok but it looks like my screwdriver contacted some thing in the battery
anything broken with the screw driver contact ?
then it should n't be problem
reinsert and power ON the laptop again
no joy looks like ive ruined the battery with my ham fisted approach
yes ..did you used hammer !!
nope just a small screwdriver but it appears to have made contact somehow
In the PB laptop press windows logo + R on keyboard to bring up run prompt
device manager will come up
there expand battery option
and check battery is detected or not ?
I think I will have to have it checked by a technician in store
yes I suspect its not the battery rather the laptop PIN which is unable to detect the battery
Ok thanks for your assistance
Most welcome ...
Before signing off try this
click the above link
choose correct model number
click on BIOS tab at bottom
and download the latest BIOS
and install it
then restart the laptop to check battery is detected or not
if after that same problem then it has to be hardware issue ..
I'm 71 all too complicated for me thanks again
