Once done, then try to turn it on and tell me please if it now starts.

It is the internal memory that has faulted in the Kindle.

A corrupted firmware can cause this. But we have ruled this out by trying to restart it. The fact that it continues, confirms it is the Memory in the Kindle that has faulted.

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the Kindle to have it replaced. It is a known problem, and is covered by the warranty, with the replacement performed at no cost to you.
