good morning
my son in law is afraid i have been a victim of a scam
on thursday i took a call claiming to be from microsoft telling me my computer is very slow which it was and you were receiving fault messages back from it. when we searched the system we found 8400 fault and error messages stored within.
i then left it with you or whoever to clear the faults to speed the computer sharing my microsoft password XXXXX them.
the machine is faster and i have paid to have microsoft security and Malwaredy anti? installed instead of Norton and Macafee.
The invoice is from PC-assist4you.Ltd /www.billingsupport systems.com transaction ref.TR1393321(NNN) NNN-NNNN
Is this genuine microsoft support or have i compromised my computer and left myself open to a scam

when you receive another call, and if you receive such calls in the future, just hang up and never give them your credit card.

did they install a program on your computer?

Customer:

yes that's fine but what damage has already been done do I cancel the card

so what we need to do now is,

1) call your bank and cancel the card. and request a refund (don't let your bank allow the transaction)

2) install a well known good program like norton, avg or mcafee and scan your computer fully

sorry I missed the second part Microsoft security / Malewareby anti/c cleaner

if you don't cancel your credit card, since they already have your credit card number, they may charge you again in the future

i just noticed that picasa does not store photos.

the bank checked with me before the transaction was completed so I have obviously lost that money are they likely to corrupt

so unfortunately we have no change to get the money back

our best option is to cancel the card and prevent any future charges

the PC are the these items they have loaded ok or should they be cleared

and these programs will find the malware/spyware/virus and then delete them

they took the MacAfee and Norton off my pc obviously for that reason
