One thing - on this site when asked for my email it said that it was already registered to a previous email and wouldn't let me put the email address in. I have used this service before so does that mean that I should have logged in as an existing member instead?

Have just tried to open one of the emails in the storage folders - all the ones that looked like they'd been saved and none of them will open so the issue isn't resolved
Sorry, I didn't realise you had come back to me.
I'd already done the system restore. Going back in time through the list of restore points there was one for 15/03/2014 at 11.54 am. The next one below was a system image dated 21/08/2011. There were no other available points between these two dates.
I did the system restore to the 15/03/2014 date, but as the time of it (11.54 am) was after the time of the first email waiting to be delivered (as I saw on my Orange webmail) I think the problem must have occurred before that restore point.
I don't understand why there is such a big gap in restore point dates - surely there should have been some in between and the date I need isn't there.
You said earlier 'Anything you save in folders under storage Folders , is safe and even if the account is removed its not deleted' So why can't I open these stored emails? They are all listed there in each storage folder but when I try to open one this is what I get: Message cannot be found. The contents of this message cannot be found.

OK, so thanks for trying to fix things. Yes the inbox and outbox are working and the contacts only has really old contacts in it. I suppose that's the best it's going to get.
I've got my head around losing all the emails - c'est la vie! But I just want to know what to do with all those empty storage folders and messages that are blank. Can I delete them? Also, can I change the name of my WLM account as the one you put in was a bit long to remember? I'm scared of doing anything that will mess things up!
I've deleted all those dud emails and empty folders in the storage files. I'll need to set up new storage folders so have added one called XX Other that I can put folders underneath to stop everything getting mixed up. Now I'm wondering if I can delete the Imported Folder and folders underneath, or are they necessary?
