I had had my Kindle for about two years and it has been fantastic,

Resolved Question:

I had had my Kindle for about two years and it has been fantastic, but now it is not working at all.
This happened suddenly one minute it was working perfectly next it wasn't and I was locked out.
The green light was on all the time and the slider worked but would not wake up.
I left it all night and then looked at it this afternoon, the light is now out.
I am now trying to charge it up but I still cannot wake it up.
Can you help, I loaded two new books on to it yesterday and now cannot read them. [email protected]

Can you please remove the charger from the Kindle.

Then hold the power to off for 35 seconds, then release.

Plug the charger back in, then turn on the Kindle and tell me if it now starts correctly please.

No it still shows the greenlight but although the slider moves correctly nothing happens

ok, I want to do a full power down please.

Remove the charger again and hold the power down for 2 minutes, then release.

Then start it without the charger connected.

I have done as you asked and now the light has gone off altogether and when I push the slider along nothing happens. There is now green light now.

The orange light is on as it should be but the Kindle does not wake when the slider is pushed

It was the firmware that was the issue, but we have corrected this.
