Hi and thanks for choosing Just Answer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I will be happy to assist you.

A lot of times this can happen because Chrome has a built in Shockwave and Flash player and it gets confused about which player to use. Please try the following:

  1. Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and press the R key to open the Run window.
  2. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK to open the Programs window.
  3. Look for the Flash and Shockwave entries. There may be several of each.
  4. Highlight each Flash and Shockwave entry and click Uninstall.
  5. Complete each uninstall wizard.
  6. Reboot.
  7. Try Chrome again and play a video or other Shockwave/Flash feature and make sure it doesn't crash.

Let me know if that doesn't work; I will be here. Thanks!

I get this error Erik ...

Hm it seems like your built in Flash Player isn't working at all. Can you try this for me?

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the address bar type in chrome:plugins and hit Enter.
  3. Look for the Flash Plugin; if you see it please choose to Enable it.
  4. If you don't see it, please download a fresh copy of Chrome from www.google.com/chrome and see if that fixes it.

Keep me posted, thanks!

Please download and install the Revo Uninstaller program at

, then open it, and select Google Chrome, then click on Uninstall
, then select the Advanced option , then select all whenever prompted, and delete and confirm
, then restart the computer, and download and reinstall Chrome and see if it works:

Sorry. Do you mean the image is off? Does youtube video work in IE or Firefox browser?

Thank you

You've used Revo uninstaller to uninstall chrome, then reinstalled it, and it still did not work?

In Chrome, click on the 3-bar icon at the top right corner, then click on Settings, then scroll down, then click on Show advanced settings at the bottom, then scroll down, then click on Reset browser settings, then click on Reset, then check.

Thank you

so far so good, thank you.

I lost all my extensions, do I add them back one at a time to see where the problem is?

Many thanks.

Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 3 years ago.
You're welcome. Yes, please add back one at a time, and check a youtube video each time to check if a particular extension might have caused the issue.

Thank you
