It will not give me a password, because it says it cannot connect because the firewall is on. I have to confess, I put it on because the computer was doing the same thing before and I wondered if the problem was because it was off. I clicked on it to turn it on, but it won't let me turn it off again. I went in to security settings but it will not turn off, jill
can you check the DATE of your computer
is it showing today's date?
if not, can you change it
I have done this and it said 2002. I think I have reset it ok
can you change it to 2014, march 30

I have now checked and it all seems to be working OK. I have not had that panel come up saying 'There is a problem'

I cannot believe it could be so simple. Although we had this computer some time, it had never been used with the internet before. Last week i took it to a computer repair shop who charged me £45, put on lots of updates and when I got it home they had not cured my problem. Would you not think they would have picked up on the date. I had never looked at the date and was not sure even where to find it. I can only thank you
