Jerry Hannell :

hello sir/madam
I would like to help you, please let me know when you are ready

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

Ready

Jerry Hannell :

hi,

Jerry Hannell :

what is your operating system? windows 7 or 8?

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

Hi

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

7

Jerry Hannell :

what is the version? windows 7 enterprise, windows 7 ultimate etC?

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

ent

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

hi, are you still there?

Jerry Hannell :

yes

Jerry Hannell :

I am checking if the board is supporting it

Jerry Hannell :

yes

Jerry Hannell :

so there must be a problem with windows

Jerry Hannell :

what does your bios see?

Jerry Hannell :

8 gb or 16?

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

not sure where in the BIOS to look. Sorry.

Jerry Hannell :

there must be a section that shows you the installed memory

Jerry Hannell :

it is similar to this:

Jerry Hannell :

Jerry Hannell :

can you check your bios

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

will do, can i easily get back to you once out the process?

Jerry Hannell :

yes. by the way

Jerry Hannell :

when you are in bios, look for an option called memory remapping

Jerry Hannell :

Jerry Hannell :

it looks like that

Jerry Hannell :

you need to enable it

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

OK

Jerry Hannell :

waiting

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

8gb in the BIOS and it is set to enabled.

Jerry Hannell :

so this is not a windows problem

Jerry Hannell :

it is a hardware problem

Jerry Hannell :

can you check the memory chips, remove them and insert again

Jerry Hannell :

instead of starting windows, everytime open bios and check if it shows 16 gb

Jerry Hannell :

when you see 16 gb , start windows

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

Have carried out these operations in anticipation of you asking and continue to have same problem. The red light next to the dimms continues to light up when booting. I can only conclude that the motherboard is faulty?

Jerry Hannell :

can you validate that 4 rams are working? you can insert them one by one and check if your computer can see the rams seperately

Jerry Hannell :

so we can understand if there is a problem with memory chips or not

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

All rams are working.

Jerry Hannell :

can you go to bios again

Jerry Hannell :

remap option is enabled?

Jerry Hannell :

also Memory Alias Check" and "Channel A/B Dimm Control are enabled/checked?

JACUSTOMER-sbcjpyku- :

Remap is enabled will check other settings and get back to you.

Jerry Hannell :

waiting
