I use Windows Live Mail for e-mails. The service went down

Customer Question

I use Windows Live Mail for e-mails. The service went down - nothing coming or going. I sent myself a message to check. Now it has come back again, but I don't have the messages sent inh the previous 24 hours or so. How can I get them?

Hi! My name is Josh and I will be assisting you. Let's get started!

Which service went down? Your email provider? Were you expecting an email in the last 24 hours and didn't receive it? How do you know you were sent an email during that time?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I use Windows Live Mail. I get a lot of junk mail so it never happens that even a few hours go by without receiving something. And I subscribe to some services. Anyway, as I said I sent myself a test e-mail and it did not arrive.

Do you get any error messages?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I had one saying my quota is almost full. I often get this but have never lost e-mails before. . In fact, once you have answered this query, I may have another about this.

Norman,

Would you be okay with a screen sharing session so I can view the issue and fix it?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes

Expert:  Josh replied 2 years ago.
navigate to http://166.78.231.170:8040/ and type in the code "1" without the quotes
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Thanks. I'd hoped for a solution rather than direction to another website. However, I'll be a satisfied customer if that provides a solution.

After this, I would the answer to another problem with Windows Live Mail. I gather I can get this either free or upping the fee to £38. Is this right?

Expert:  Josh replied 2 years ago.
Norman,

It is not another website - It is a link so I can access your computer as you stated that it was okay.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

OK, I'll go to it right away

Expert:  Josh replied 2 years ago.
Okay - Waiting for you
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

It doesn't seem to be working. I'm sorry, I'm doing my best, and I'm sure you are, Josh.. What next?

Expert:  Josh replied 2 years ago.
Which email provider do you have setup with WLM?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. How do I find out what provider I have?

Expert:  Josh replied 2 years ago.
What is the part after the @ symbol in your email address? @hotmail, @yahoo, @gmail, etc
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

My address is [email protected]

Expert:  Josh replied 2 years ago.
Please give me the part ONLY after the @ symbol like my example otherwise the email address is blocked for my viewing.

If you sign into your account, can you view emails in the last 24 hours? Can you send an email to yourself?

This will determine where the issue lies - either with WLM or your email provider.

This is 13 hours later. I could not connect any more, and ran out of time and energy. My e-mail connection is restored, but I cannot access any e-mails sent to me during the blackout period. I know this because I did not see the test message I sent to myself. There must be some way I can get those.

Hi Norman,

This is my first time hearing back from you since yesterday. When I asked if you could sign into your account via the browser link; could you do it? It is important to know where the issue was yesterday.
