Why cant I access any new e-mails on my Kindle Fire HD since

Resolved Question:

Why can't I access any new e-mails on my Kindle Fire HD since BT took over from Yahool.
BT says: unable to open server connection. What does that mean and why has that happened now? My laptop is ok.

Thank you for your question, my name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you.

You will need to read the email account on the Kindle so it can take the new settings for the Kindle to use.

First, delete the current BT Email account from the Kindle.

Once done, Add the email account but use the below settings.

Incoming Server Settings (select Pop, not iMap)
pop3.btconnect.com
port 110
none

Outgoing Server Settings
smtp.btconnect.com
none
port 25

Once saved, you should then be able to send and receive.

Let me know the results please

Thank you

On which step is it saying this from this in my instructions?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

After I have typed in your instructions, it says, Checking Server settings. Shound I take the word android out before typing in your instructions?

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
yes, as you only use my instructions, there is no word Android in it.

Let me know the results please

I've taken the word Android out, but it still says Unable to set up account, also, unable to open server connection. I think I must have done something stupid somewhere along the line.

It is one of the settings you are doing incorrect Mary.

We will do it this way via the web browser.

Open Silk (The Web Browser)

And go to

https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform

Sign in and view your emails there.

Can you access them this way?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes, and I was able to read your message. That's good, so I can retrieve them this way. Thank you very much for that.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Your welcome Mary, this is the best way for you to access them as it is not reliant on any special settings, so always will work.
