I have Adobe Acrobat Reader 9. I would like to be able to complete

Resolved Question:

I have Adobe Acrobat Reader 9. I would like to be able to complete forms which are sent to me in PDF format (including the option to expand sections where necessary). Please can you advise on the most economical way to do as money is tight and I rarely have fill out forms this way, so I am not sure that upgrading to a very expensive package would be worthwhile for me?

hi,

***** *****nell :

there is a way to do it online

***** *****nell :

and free

***** *****nell :

since you said you rarely have to fill out forms,

***** *****nell :

it will be the best option

***** *****nell :

what is your browser?

Customer:

Google Chrome

***** *****nell :

this is the site you will need to use

***** *****nell :

what you need to do is

***** *****nell :

1) upload the pdf file
2) edit (fill out the form)

Customer:

The form may take a few weeks to complete and the sections may need to be expanded as the text will not fit into the size of sections as they are. Will this be a problem?

***** *****nell :

no, you can still do it online

Customer:

Brilliant! OK - I will try that. What's the catch?

***** *****nell :

you can read the features here

***** *****nell :

service is free, they just Show advertisements on the website

***** *****nell :

after filling out your form, you will be able to
1) download your form to your computer or...
2) email it directly from the website

***** *****nell :

there is an alternative service:

***** *****nell :

https://www.pdfescape.com/

Customer:

I see - thanks. You've been very helpful. I will try.

***** *****nell :

these two services are online. you don't install anything. i want to recommend a software program that you can install on your computer

***** *****nell :

called foxit

***** *****nell :

you can download it from the page above

***** *****nell :

it is free

Customer:

OK - that might suit me better. I'll have a look at that too.

***** *****nell :

yes, since it will be installed on your computer, you will be able to Access it directly from your computer instead of going to the websites and uploading the forms

Customer:

Great - thanks.

***** *****nell :

you are welcome

I have tried a couple of the above - none seem to increase the size of the text box on the forms - am I missing something? I downloaded foxit - which does not seem to want to accept all PDF documents. I haven't found a solution which has worked for me yet.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Instead of foxit?

Expert:  Jerry Hannell replied 3 years ago.
with foxit, were you able to increase the size of the textbox?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

It doesn't seem so.

Expert:  Jerry Hannell replied 3 years ago.

can you download adobe pro

https://www.acrobat.com/free-trial-download.html?trackingid=KKYXC

and install. you will be able to use it for 30 days.

can you check if you are able to increase the size of the textbox.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes, I am able to increase the size of the text box with the free trial - which I already knew about before contacting you, but I didn't want to subscribe as I knew it would cost more than it was worth me paying / more than I could afford.

Foxit responded to my query about expanding the box - they said that it wasn't possible with the free version. So, it seems that the answer to my original question is actually 'no, it there is no free / cheap way of filling out forms with the option of expanding existing text box'.
