Saturday's system restore was a disaster because the pc froze in the process and I had to turn it off. Computer had completely crashed and could not be restarted in safe mode or last successful boot etc. Took it into my local engineer who retrieved the data and reinstalled the operating system because it had been damaged. Now back and up and running but still have problem with email.
I would like you to help me restore the settings to Pop 3 etc
Yes as far as I can outlook is there and the data is fine
Since I got the computer back I am not able to send or receive. I can send receive on my old laptop - looked at setting and think this is the problem. You will recall changing me from pop 3 to IMAP. I think this may be the problem

Ok As we know it works in TB we know its a Problem with something Effecting outlook
We have done a Clean Relnstall next test is Safemode
1) If the Machine is on Power it Off
2) Power the Machine on
3) As soon as it comes on Tap F8 >Keep Tapping
4) The advanced Boot Menu will come up
5) Scroll down to "safemode with networking" Press Enter

Started in safe mode and sent test mail. Guess you got yours I did not get mine. Just the same.

I have registered as a member of the talktalk community and there are loads of members dealing with this issue.
What is interesting is that I have exactly the same problem on my laptop that I got out when my computer died on Saturday. Uses Outlook on a XP platform. However configured by ipad to send as well as receive and it is fine - emails get through no problem.
It would appear people are saying that this has been an issue since mid June.
James - Happy to rate with smileys - please just give me step by step to get data back from desk top into Outlook. I need all my archives and contacts. Or do you prefer to do it remotely.
I would like to close this conversation but I really need my contacts and archive of folders from Outlook. They are still sitting as a .pst file on my desk top. It won't take you very long and then I can rate you and leave you in peace. It is clear from the Community at talktalk that this is a major issue and is going to feature on you and yours tomorrow.
