May I ask which browser or application you are using to access Facebook?

the browser does not matter as I am referring to the search box with facebook, eg deleting people pages you may have visited. It will still show up if I was using facebook on someone's else computer/laptop?

Hello Mary,
I am sorry for the confusion, but the browser has absolutely everything to do with it.
You simply need to delete the history in the browser and reset the Internet cache.
The instructions on how to do this are different for each browser. Please, let me know which browser you were using.
Perhaps, I am not understanding your question.

Once you are signed into Facebook, do the following:
- Click the small arrow icon in the upper right-hand corner of Facebook
- In the new menu, click Activity Log
- In the left panel area of the screen, from there, click the "More" (it is below Photos, Likes, & Comments)
- Click the Search link
- You can delete each search individually by clicking the circle with a line through it or you can delete ALL searches by clicking the "CLEAR SEARCHES" link on the top right area of that page.
