The head gap setting needs adjustment. Go into Menu Mode and change the setting for print head gap adjust under the Group Setup. The default setting is 0. If the printing is lighter, change the setting to-1; if it's darker, change it to +1.

similar but not the same it has a top feeder on it like a double shelf

I am out of options as to where your print head gap adjust tab is. I can either opt out to another expert or give you the number to Oki so you can call them to see where it is so that you can adjust your mb471 to a darker print. You should see a tab by your carriage head roller.
