You can do a soft reset on your Archos 40 by removing the battery for 1 minute while the device is powered on. Then reinsert the battery.

Thanks Randy but the problem with my phone still exists - unable to send or open photos sent to me. I was told a soft reset would fix it but it hasn't.

try this and let me know please> text WEB to 40127 and the correct internet and picture messaging settings will be sent to your device by text.

Hi Randy I have amended the settings as detailed, but it still hasn't fixed the problem. Any other ideas or is this a lost cause?

If these settings are correct on the phone then the network settings need to be corrected in the cellular providers(Vodaphone) end.
