Hello! Thank you for your question. I am a licensed computer professional with over ten years of experience, and I will be assisting you today.
I'm sorry about the issue. Can you disconnect the the power cord from the HP Pavilion Slimline S5206uk computer, then disconnect the monitor cable from both the computer and the monitor, then re-connect the ,monitor cable securely (pushed all the way in both the monitor and computer), then re-connect the power cable, then turn the computer on and check.
I have done that a few times with no success.
Sorry, is there any beep?
Do you hear any normal noise from the computer?
The fans are going.
When you turn on the computer, it just shows "Power Saver On", nothing else? It does not show the HP logo, etc.?
No logo. I have now put it on a different moiter and it says no signal.
with different monitor cable also?
I tried that yesterday.
Sorry, can you disconnect the power cord from the computer,
, then open the computer's cover,
, then remove all the RAM memory stick(s)
Sorry for the delay but I am 71yrs old with a back injury both sticks out.
Now, re-insert only one memory stick, then connect power cord, then turn on and check.
Just the same. VGA in then no signal
Sorry, can you disconnect the power cord from the computer, then remove the memory stick, then insert only the other stick and check
The same response as before.
Sorry, did you also try only one memory stick in the other memory slot also?
Is the memory card removable? (Where the monitor cable is connected to)
Is the graphics card removable? (Where the monitor cable is connected to)
I can't see a graphics card.
, then the graphics card is built-in the systemboard
Since you've tried with both monitors (the monitors should work when connecting to another desktop or laptop), then the issue is with the S5206uk desktop
It's unlikely both the RAM memory sticks could go bad
The graphics card could be bad; if you can get a graphics card to try
; otherwise, the motherboard is bad
I don't have a graphics card.
Sorry, it's a hardware issue, not a software issue, so having a windows / restore disk won't work.
How old is the HP Pavilion Slimline S5206uk computer? Is it still under warranty?
Ok then. No I have had it about 3yrs.
Sorry about the hardware issue. Do you need any data/file from the computer?
I will do. I will just have to take it to a local computer shop and get them to put a new motherboard in.
Oh OK, if you need to get your data/file urgently, you can get a USB SATA external hard drive enclosure/adapter
then put the hard drive in it, then connect the enclosure/adapter to a working computer, then you can get your data out
Or you can have the local computer shop does it
Ok thats nice to know. Its not urgent so I can look around. Thank you.
You're welcome. Do you need anything else for now?
No thanks that is all. I will submit OK service.
Sorry again about the hardware issue. If you need anything else later, please let me know any time. Thank you very much.
