Yes it does work on my other computer with Windows 7, but I want to use it on Windows 8.1. I hope you can advise about this. Is it perhaps a Driver problem?

Thanks Michelle. All seems to be working OK on my 8.1 laptop and I am re-establishing the back-up on my W7 desktop but without all the 'unfriendly' hoops I had to go through on the laptop. I have a lot of files, etc stored in the cloud, so if all breaks down I can still get access.
