Sorry, I've been on the phone to Just Answer (took me 15 minutes to get the number!). I couldn't enter my email address on the site as they said it was already regitered to another member - which was me back in 2011!
Anyway, I do hope you can help me. This has happened completely out of the blue. I never use my googlemail account, I just have to have it to use the app store etc. I have never had any problem since. How can I be in Canada when I'm sitting here in the UK. And how can I unblock my google access on Firefox?
I can't do ANYTHING on Firefox, as I simply get the message:
Secure Connection Failed

I don't want to log in to Googlemail, or Gmail - I just need it from time to time when using the app store - but since it has blocked my log-in attempts (saying I am in Canada!) it has also frozen/blocked my access to Google on Firefox.
It is on my desktop computer - and I use Firefox/Google all day every day - which is why I'm so desperate!

Date, time and time zone are correct. I just don't understand why this problem should happen suddenly out of the blue when I haven't done anything different.
As I said, I never use Googlemail (or Gmail) except when I have to enter a Google address for App Store etc. The trouble is, I have a new phone which I want to set up but one of the first pages to open in set-up is "Google Services" - Backup and Restore - to back up my data to a Google Account.... I haven't even put the SIM card into it yet, and I don't want to enter anything to do with this Google account it if is going to muck it up before I've even set it up!
Do you think re-installing firefox could help? Can I get rid of the Google account completely and open another one?
Yes, it is my desktop that I'm having the problem with - although my sign-in attempts are blocked whatever device I use - which MUST have something to do with it, don't you think?

Hi Chris, I've received an email from you saying I haven't read your answer, but I've read them all yesterday when we were connected so I don't understand! I thought perhaps it could be something to do with rating, so I tried to submit "excellent" but it said I had already done it and it would mean another charge if I did it again. Have I done everything I'm supposed to? Please let me know - I want to be sure you've had all the credit you deserve! I'm not sure what my final total was, something like£24 plus the extra for when you took over the computer and sorted it out, I think you said £13 or so?
