Hello. I installed Google Chrome but wasn't happy that it

Resolved Question:

Hello. I installed Google Chrome but wasn't happy that it made itself the default browser. I then deleted Google Chrome expecting that the default browser would revert to IE. However when I click on the IE shortcut it just gives me the Internet properties window.
So I can't start up IE.
Can you help please.
Thanks
Tony

Hi I'm not sure whether my reply got through to you.

I tried what you suggested and (kicking myself) found that IE does start up

when starting it from the All programs list, and went straight to my (previous) home page i.e. Google.

Not sure what happened here??

No problem that is actually why I asked.
What happened is when chrome was removed it (not on purpose) changed the shortcut you normally use for internet explorer.

Right click on the one that opens properties and click delete.
Then right click on the one in the start menu, and click send to> desktop.
You should then have a working internet explorer icon on your desktop again, test to make sure.

If this did not work, please come back and let me know what happened when you tried it by clicking on reply to expert so we can continue.
If it did work, please don’t forget to leave a positive rating - it is greatly appreciated.
