Expert:  James K. replied 2 years ago.
Ok no problem

can I remote on and have a look i can send you a link to connect
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes. I have just tried another external hard drive in the laptop and that's working so must be the hard drive not a laptop issue.

Expert:  James K. replied 2 years ago.
not really just beacuse another drive works

if you had tried the problem drive in another machine and it worked then you would know its the laptops issue

lets have a quick look

The hard drive isnt recognised in the other laptop either

Expert:  James K. replied 2 years ago.
Ok

Then we know its the drive

Well it will be the caddy

They are well known for going bad

You need to remove the caddy and place into a new one

these are very cheap less that £5

Remove the disk Insert into the new Caddy - Connect and your good to go
