Ask a Computer Question, Get an Answer ASAP!
Hello sir/madam, I would like to help you, please let me know when you are ready.
hi, when you visit a website, the browser you are using sends some data to that website (server) called "headers"
inside the headers, there is your information including IP number, the name of the browser you are using, the name of your operating system etc
the answer is yes, the webpage owner can see your ip number if you visit their website
what information can be taken from an IP address
can anything be done with it?
from an ip address, your country, city, region can be known
but no personal infp
can someone hack into my system/laptop with my ip address
excuse my ignorance on this subject
a typical person cannot know anything other than the city you are living in. if there are security holes in your computer, yes, that is technically possible
that's why you need to activate the automatic updates for your operating system
can i change my ip address?
it is easy, just restart your modem/router and your ISP will give you a new ip
to know your ip number, you can go to : www.whatismyip.com
if you restart your modem/router, you can visit this page again, and you will notice the change
Can one hide their IP address?
Also how do i clear google search browing history in chrome
using programs like hotspot shield it is possible
to clear Google search browsing history in chrome, you need to enter this comman in your chrome address bar:
is the website safe
and press enter
and at top you will see a "clear history" button
yes, it is being used by many people
you are welcome
i meant google search bar
it still comes up with autofill and i cleared that from the history
i have done this over the week and noticed it comes up on web and phone
normally it is a feature of google
you will see it on other computers too
when you start typing, Google will auto-complete your text
(it is not a setting in your computer)
but it is coming up with old stuff
eg i type G
and it says groundzero
are you logged-in to your Google account?
your Google account is also storing the search queries
it is called personalized search
Google Personalized Search is a feature of Google Search. All searches on Google Search are associated with a browser cookie record. Then, when a user performs a search, the search results are not only based on the relevance of each web page to the search term, but also on which websites the user (or someone else using the same browser) visited through previous search results.
i logged out now
it is better to search without logging in
(for better privacy and security)
thanks for all your help
