can you please let me know.. what is the TV model and HOW did you connect the harddisk to the TV and what option did you select from the TV?
tv model is LG 47smart tv,i connect the hard drive via usb ,it all went wrong when i tried to record football
you have tried to USE hard disk as STORAGE for the TV recordings
and it might have FORMATTED the disk to its relevant structure
and saved the football

i think that was the case unknowing to me
it saved the football but lost everthing else

do you have a copy of the data?
can you bring it back to the normal

if i can get the hard drive back to its original status i can put stuff back on?
Take a back up of the data (football video)
it has been deleted
and then connect it to computer via USB, right click on it and select FORMAT and then it will format the harddisk
then it can be used for storage as you have been doing

you may not be able to BROWSE the contents..
can you try to connect it via a different USB port and check
Pls try to connect the harddisk via different USB port and let me know how things go
if it is making a LOT of NOISE then i donot recommend it using as a BACKUP
how old is that harddisk?
do you use it regularly or only occassinally?

Lot of noise from harddisk may mean PROBLEM so it is not safe
age cant remember use it alot

Ok.. so it is working... but the FORMAT may be different so computer is unable to recognize
can we do a remote session so that I can check the problem on the computer and try to see if I can make the hard disk detectable
