what is the make and model number of the monitor?

Philips 36" flat tv

yes via UPC

can you tell me the mode number of the

is it a tv or a monitor?

It is a tv monitor

ok and its connected to a desktop computer?

Yes

please confirm the video cable is connected fine on both the endes

Michelle :

is the mpnitor powering on?

Customer:

I will check

No the monitor is not powering on

Michelle :

Turn off the tv and unplug the power cable and then unplug the video cable from the back of the tv

Michelle :

check the connector for any bend pins if its connected with a vga cable

Customer:

will do

Michelle :

remove the other end of the cable from the computer and check as well

Michelle :

try to reconnect and make sure its inserted correctly and the power on the tv and then the computer

Michelle :

please follow the sequence.

have done that and monitor light is still red and not green

Michelle :

that means the monitor is not receiving signal from the computer

Michelle :

to verify the monitor is good unplug the video cable from the back of the computer and let the monitor be on in that way

How do I Sort this Michelle ?

if you see no signal message on the monitor that means the monitor is good

yes but tv wont work unless monitor light goes green

Light keeps going red

all you have to do us let the monitor be on and all you have to do is unplug teh video cable from the back of the computer and let me know if you see any message on the monitor "No Signal"
