My device will not allow me to register with amazon.
Please help. I'm getting very frustrated.

Do you receive any error message when trying to register the device with your Amazon account?

Okay. Did you make sure to connect your Kindle device to WIFI first, before registering it? If not, please do this now:

Swipe down from the top of the screen to show Quick Settings, and then tap Wireless.

Verify that Airplane Mode is Off.

Next to Wi-Fi, tap On.
Tap your wireless network to connect to it. If you see a lock icon, a network password ***** ***** Enter the Wi-Fi network password, and then tap Connect.

Done connecting, try registering your device one more time. Keep me posted.

I have just done all of this again.

It still says there has been an error whilst trying to register. Please try later. Very annoying!

Okay, I have looked up this issue further now, and it does look like this issue happens due to a server issue at Amazon's end. You will need to call them up directly to get your device registered, using their official support link:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/contact-us/

I'll close out this question for you now, and request a refund of the deposit you had placed as well. Thank you.
