Customer: Toshhiba
Michelle :

What is the model number of the computer?

Customer: Where would I find the model number
Customer: Is it satellite c855-1tf
Michelle :

Thank you

Michelle :

Turn off the computer

Michelle :

power must be shut down

Customer: I've done that
Michelle :

Press and Hold number 0 key

Turn on the laptop using the power button and press and hold it as well and when you hear it making beeping sounds, release the power button first, then the 0 key and the recovery should start.

Customer: Comes checking media (fail )
Michelle :

go into the bios and check if the hard drive is listed in there or not

Michelle :

if the hard drive is seen in the bios that means the hidden partition on the hard drive which is called factory partition is either corrupted or its bad.

Customer: I can't get on anything all I get is a black screen with no bootable device -- please restart system
Michelle :

Turn off the computer wait for 30 seconds

Michelle :

turn it back on and keep tapping F2 key

Michelle :

this will take you to the bios setup screen

Michelle :

let me know when you are there

Customer: I'm there
Michelle :

now check the hard drive listed in there on the main menu screen

Customer: Is HDD/SSD the hard drive
Michelle :

yes that is correct

Michelle :

do you so see anything next to it says like STddbg426ss or DMxxxxx

Customer: Toshhiba MQ01ABD075 (S1) is that it
Michelle :

yes looks fine

Michelle :

this has a toshiba hard drive

Michelle :

alright

Michelle :

thank you for confirming this

Customer: Your welcome
Michelle :

now let me give you the options you have.

Customer: Ok
Michelle :

your hard drive seems to be good and not crashed however the problem is only with the boot files of the factory restore hidden partition which is basically corrupted and bad and that cannot be recovered however

Michelle :

you have two choices to get your computer back in running

Michelle :

1. Buy windows disk to install and run windows.

Michelle :

you will have to buy other softwares as well you want to install and that has to be purchased individually which is an expensive affair.

Michelle :

2. This is be the best option which i will recommend you can call Toshiba i will give you the number to call and order recovery disks they the charge is less then buying a windows operating system disk and the recovery disks will contain all factory loaded software's which will include Toshiba drivers as well.

Michelle :

This will be the best option

Customer: Ok option 2 sounds best
Michelle :

click on the link

Michelle :

enter the serial number of the computer

Michelle :

serial number can be located at the bottom pane of the laptop

Customer: Ok thank you very much MIchelle
Michelle :

close the lid and flip it

Michelle :
