Brother MFC J5910dw does not print at all. The printer goes

Resolved Question:

Brother MFC J5910dw does not print at all. The printer goes through all the motions but the paper comes out clear of any print whatsover. I cleaned it twice. The test print is the same as if I send it via computer

I have a Mac lion OS but that it not the problem, the problem is with the Brother MFC printer

Brother MFC J5910dw does not print at all. The printer goes through all the motions but the paper comes out clear of any print whatsover. I cleaned it twice. The test print is the same as if I send it via computer

have you tried running a head cleaning of the printhead

there is an option on the printer menu

have you done a manual cleaning or automated cleaning

i cleaned it through the options screen on the front of the machine

ok...please give me a moment here..let me check if manual cleaning is possible

please remove the ink cartridges

Michelle :

now shake the cartridges a bit so that little ink comes oput

Michelle :

wipe off excess ink with cotton swab and alcohol

Michelle :

also clean nozzles of cartridge ensuring they are not clogged

Michelle :

reinsert ink and then try a print

Michelle :

Tried that. Ran test print Same result. Besides, the likelihood that all the colours are blocked is very low. There is no print whatsoever.

ok and when you run a head cleaning, at that time does it print a nozzle check sheet with blocks of color

rarely or regularly

at least every 2 days

the problem is not with ink getting low but the head being clogged from inside

Michelle :

the printhead is that part that transfers the ink from cartridge to paper

Michelle :

printheads get clogged internally causing such an issue

Customer:

All the inks are medium to full, the black is new. What can I do about the print head?

Michelle :

usually the printhead needs to be replaced ..however there are head cleaning kits available that can unclog printheads from inside

Michelle :

i will share the link from ebay or amazon from where you can get these kits

these are available locally at printer repair shops as well

its worth a try to use these kits before going in the printhead

if it fails to make a change then the printhead would need to be replaced

the problem lies with the printhead..you can try a head cleaning kit first but if that fails then the printhead would need to be replaced

i hope you understand that in case of a hardware fault\jams on printer i can try reset steps and cleaning procedures but cannot make a bad part work again
