the tv takes 50 mins picture to be watchable then its ok ihave had it repaired onvce 3 months ago is it wotth repairing

how much did you already spend on the repair of the tv.

when you turn on the tv how does it display looks like.

£300 every thing double and blurred

after the repair how long did it worked fine?

yes it is taking 50mins to be ok 10 days aprox

Michelle :

you can try checking the ribbon cables connected to the from top when you open the front panel cover it might be loose or you can use a insulation tape to stick the ribbon cable tight in to it connector they are very sensitive.

Michelle :

Second reason is that the lcd panel controller card attache with the main board might be faulty and it work because of some components controlling the lcd screen gets heated up after 50 mins and then it looks fine to watch.

My suggestion to you would to check the lcd controller and check the price and availability and if it more then 200 pound then you may discard the tv and opt new one because repair will cost you close to a new tv.

what is a lcd controler?

Michelle :

LCD controller is a pcb chip board connected to the main board which controls the image.

ok where can i buy one

Michelle :

if you are not a tv technician i would suggest you not to attempt however if you can tell me the area you live i can give you a sony Authorised service center number to call and check the repair price they will replace the T-Con board.

Michelle :

repaired or refurbished T-Con board can go bad in 3 to 6 months however get a new board replaced which will have a warranty on the new board.
