I am having trouble downloading google chrome on my computer. I am running windows 8.1.

Can you tell me if you are getting any specific error when you try to download it?

No error just says downloading but the box is there saying it is downloading but I have waited 5 mins and nothing else happens.

Does it at any point say download complete? What happens if you click on the download

Says download is complete but cannot find it on computer but nothing there so tried again and still nothing

What we want to do now is to actually launch the file you just downloaded

Is there a button that says "next" or "continue"

No,.It comes up with a box saying Launching Application and then seats there trying to launch.

Step 1: Go this this website (click here)

Step 2: Click "Join Remote Control Session"

ChrisC :

Step 3: When prompted, run the file

ChrisC :

Step 4, click next all the way through the install and then give me the codes that come up on your screen

Pressed Jon Remote Control Session then run and then nothing else happens

Do you see anything flashing at you down at the bottom of your screen?

Yes pressed run and then get nothing

Do you see a window at the bottom labeled "teamviewer" by any chance?

Ok and what happens if you open up that Window

ChrisC :

What I am looking for specifically is a 9 digit ID and a 4 digit password

No nothing comes up with run or save so press run says it is downloading, security scanned and then nothing else

And there is nothign flashing down at the very bottom of your screen as if it is trying to get your attention?

nd no other Window labeled Teamviewer?

Says download free for private use do I need to press that?

And yes it is ok to try that one

Must have another problem as nothing I am trying to download is happening

No tried that as well and that did not work either

Let me ask, have you tried rebooting yor computer since this issue began?

No I have not as yet

I think that is probably going to be our next step
