I recently purchased Kindle Voyager and cannot transfer books

Resolved Question:

I recently purchased Kindle Voyager and cannot transfer books etc from old Kindle. It demands a password ***** the usual one is not recognised. Help!

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Kindle and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Kindle.

It is going to return your Kindle to new, but its the only way to remove the lock.

Yes Richard - but this is the same whatever I put in. Keyboard seems to be loth to accept digit until another is put in.

Or is it for the wifi connection or Amazon account?

The only other reason for this is the internal memory that has faulted and the firmware has malfunctioned. You're not going to be able to get past this screen.
I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the Kindle to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you. But your going to have to replace it John.
