Hi, I am A. Stevens here to help with your question!
Do you know the alternative password? This password ***** take precedence over the fingerprint...did you by chance set the password?
I did when I first got the phone but now it's not what I thought
So somehow a setting got switched so that it is using password ***** of swipe now.
Are you synced with a Google account?
I see..do you know if your phone is backed up?
The only alternative might be to do a factory reset of the phone
No it's not but there's nothing on it of any importance
So yes let's just do a factory reset then
Fully charge your phone.Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys, until the Samsung logo appears.Scroll down using Volume Down and choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset, by pressing the Power Key.Scroll down (using the Volume Down key) and choose Yes – delete all user data and confirm with Power Key.Wait for the phone to reboot.
Are you able to get to any of the steps?
Just keeps powering down and then back up
Are you holding all keys at the same time?
volume up, home and power
This is the normal way to boot in to recovery mode...
not sure why it wouldn't load
is the phone fully charged?
OK I'll keep trying...thanks
Not quite fully charged yet. I'll wait til it is and try again.
OK no problem
