Resolved Question:

I cannot update my computer with some updates. 13 updates are downloaded and, when it gets to 99% finished, it states that the download failed and is deleting all updates. This has happened about 10 times.

Expert:  James Dwyer replied 2 years ago.
just about there, its uploading to the FTP server now
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I have been to 'Activity Center', clicked on the 13 updates and the same happened - got to 99% configured and it erased all updates because of a failure.

Please explain how I use your FTP server?

Click Update and recovery, then tap or click Recovery.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I clicked 'Get Started' and it told me to restart with the installation disk or the USB that I used to save the files on. I have a Windows 8 Pro disk - which I tried - but neither this worked or the USB when I restarted the computer. What can I do now?

The system is now 8.1 so is it correct to use the 8 Pro disk? Will this adversely affect the computer?

Expert:  James K. replied 2 years ago.
WIndows 8.1 is just an update
if you have windows disk we can restore
do you have your data backed up ?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
