I have a sagemcom DTR6400T/6700T which doesnt seem to work via the handset. It works on the front button of the recorder but of course I cant do anything with it via that. Ive changed batteries in hand set to no avail

Then connect the power, turn it on and tell me if the handset now works.

If you are sure you have replaced the batteries with working ones, then the handset has failed and will need to be replaced sorry.
