my outgoing server is Sky and I appear to be successful in sending messages as the outbox says messages were sent

I am very sorry about your mail issues. I understand your scenario. What email program are you using to receive and send emails? MS Outlook?

Also, have you tried to login to your email account using the webmail?

Another thing, are you still using eircom as your internet service provider now?

No I cannot log into my incoming e-mail account with eircom

I have tried and failed using webmail

Unfortunately, I believe your email account with eircom was already deactivated since you are no longer their subscriber. When did you stop using eircom and start using Sky?
