Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist. In order to make the Kindle usable again it will need to be reset.
There are two methods to do that and since I don't know the model number of your Kindle I'll provide both.

When prompted for your password *****: "resetmykindle" (no quotes, all one word)

OR

at the password ***** enter: ###-##-####br/>
Once the reset is done, connect your Kindle to your wireless network and re-register it.
When the registration is complete all your purchased books will be available from the Amazon servers.

Hi Elisabeth. I take it that you were able to reset the Kindle successfully and now you need to get it connected to your wireless?

Is the computer you are using connected by wireless? If so, what version of Windows or OSX are you using?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I cannot reset it. I give up, throw the thing into the dustbin.

Thank you for trying.

I know this must be frustrating but I'd like to resolve this for you.

When you typed in the password ***** either resetmykindle or###-##-####br/>
how did the Kindle respond?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I cannot get even to a password *****

Hold down the power for a full 45 seconds and release to shut down and reset the device.

Try to power it on again. If it won't even reboot then there is a hardware issue.

Still unable to connect to the network

Would you like me to connect to your PC so I can help you directly?
If not, we can continue here but at a much slower pace.
If so,
Go to the address below to start the connection download.
-
http://tinyurl.com/RapidSupport
-
Wait for the download to begin.
(may take several moments depending on connection speed)
-
Click Run/Open when prompted.
-
When the program has loaded, a window will open giving you a 9 digit ID and a 4 or 6 digit password.
Please post those numbers in a Reply below using the same spacing.
I need them so I can connect to you.
-
You can then minimize the TeamViewer window (please do not close it).

Sorry, I am really giving up. Thank you

Expert:  Byron replied 2 years ago.
OK. I understand. Please take a moment before leaving to provide a positive rating as that is the only way I am credited for my assistance.

Hi Elisabeth. Amazon does have an app that allows you to read books on your PC.
