sorry, should have said: excel
i keep getting an error,
We are sorry but an error has occured while uploading.
is there another way?
i cut the file down to size, thanks again
I was hoping to have it a different way, one in which I type the name of the product instead of selecting it from an alphabetical list.
Say for example, I type the first letters of chicken, it would show me everything related to chicken.
My list is very long - over 1500 entries, and I'd need a very quick search system.
Do you know if this is possible ?
Theres a great youtube video of something similar, however on it you cannot edit the values . . .
Correct, you cannot edit the values and the list is fixed, which is why I did it this way. It is very quick and you type the first letter(s) and it limits it to this, exactly what you required. What was the issue with it?
Thanks again Richard,
Its not ideal, there is just a first letter search and then you have to scroll down all the items to find the product.
If the a-z button is pressed is rearranges my list out of sequence.
It is to be used on a tablet and this method involves too many steps to find the product. I had hoped that the dynamic idea from the youtube clip could work - or something very similar.
Apologies, my old excel version does not have that search box in the filter section, ive used it in the latest version and now its looks good.
