when I switch on my tv I plug my firestick in and all I'm getting is amazon on and firestick on the screen

ok, can you disconnect it and wait 10 minutes
Then connect it again and tell me if it now loads the firmware to the menu.

It is the internal memory that has faulted in the stick
Residue power can cause this but we have now ruled this out
I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the stick to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
