I have an HP LaserJet 400 pro colour and black prints fine

Resolved Question:

I have an HP LaserJet 400 pro colour and black prints fine but colour prints are blurred as if out of calibration. Have cleaned printer, tried calibrating and replaced toners any other suggestions?

nothing has changed as far as print programs also the basic test prints from the printer control panel are also blurred

ok, to check, did you do the cleaning as per below? If not can you please.
Press MENU until Print quality menu appears.
Press ITEM until Create cleaning page appears.
Press SELECT to create the cleaning page.
Follow the instructions on the cleaning page to complete the cleaning process

Your only option left will then be to use a maintenance kit on the printer which will clean it up which will replace the fuser unit.
Once thing though is if the printer is 4-5 years old, I would advise against this as the power supply will usually fail around this time, so you may be exchanging one problem for another. Plus for a bit extra (the kits go for around 150, you can get a replacement printer here)
