My internet connection isn't working it says internet has stopped working and won't provide me with any details. My connection is good and I've done a ping test

Just using Internet explorer and I don't know of another browser?

okay, try this please>

  1. Close all Internet Explorer windows. Select the Tools button, and then select Internet options.
  2. Select the Advanced tab, and then select Reset.
  3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, select Reset.
  4. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, select Close, and then select OK. Restart your PC to apply changes.

no, it is at the top right of your internet explorer screen.

open Internet Explorer in the desktop, select the Tools  button(looks like a gear), and then select Internet options.

Something weird has happened when I click at bottom left Internet explorer works fine but when I open a link through something I'm trying to renew my anti virus the same problem has came back

okay, try this next please>

  1. Open the Start menu by clicking the Start menu icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
  2. Type “cmd” in the search bar at the bottom of the menu.
  3. Right-click on cmd in the search results for Programs, and select Run as administrator. Depending on your computer settings, you may be asked to provide an administrator password ***** you can continue.

  4. A black box with a flashing cursor will open; this is the Command Prompt. Type “netsh winsock reset” and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.


  5. Wait for the Command Prompt to run through the reset. Once it’s complete, you’ll see the message “Winsock reset completed successfully”.
  6. Restart your computer to finish.

Yeah I'm getting the administrator thing on cmd. How do I verify I am the admin?

normally it will ask for a password ***** your not logged in as admin already.

okay, try this next>

  1. Click on Start menu, Type "Device Manager" then click on Device manager to open.
  2. Click on Network adapters to Expand the "Network Adapters" field. This will list all network adapters that the machine has installed. Right click on the wireless network adapter and select "Uninstall". This will remove the adapter from the list and uninstall the device.
  3. Click "Ok" when prompted to uninstall the device. This will remove the adapter from the list and uninstall the driver.

     

  4. Then reboot the computer, the adapter will automatically reinstall
