I have a Canon MX455 All-in-One printer which has decided it is off-line and won't print from my computer. It copies perfectly well.

Open the Print Job window

Click on File and uncheck the OFFLINE option

I'm hoping for an explanation of the instruction to "open the Print Job window". I need the information in language I can understand.

  • Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners.

  • Select the printer you used in the list at the left, then click Open Print Queue

OK I've opened the print queue but there is no option to uncheck the offline

Click on the OFFLINE option and it should remove the checkmark.

I'M GETTING FED UP WITH THIS! Nothing is quite what you say it is. I don't want to be pushed into a further £22. There is no "file" to click on.

If you click on the Print Queue

FILE is located at the top of your screen next to the Apple icon.

No it isn't! Next to the Apple icon I have "Safari" then "File". When I click on this file I get a menu with all the usual options but no sign of an offline option

Click on the Print Queue window.

There will be a File at the top.

You have the Safari window open and selected which is why you see Safari at the top. Click on the Print Queue Window and look at the top.
