I have an Acer v5 - 573. This morning as I went to shut it

Hello? I have an Acer v5 - 573. This morning as I went to shut it down after normal use, it requested to update. I allowed it to do so and it took an inordinately long time to update. Then it semi closed down. Now the Acer start up screen comes on for a second, a cursor appears underneath for a while and occasionally a restarting message, then a blank screen and back to the Acer start up. It is very frustrating!

Can you remove the power cable please so it is detached

Then hold the power button down for 60 seconds then release.

Then connect the power cable, power it on and tell me if it now starts correctly please Danny

Richard. I tried your suggestion. It seemed to take a bit longer to reboot but still comes up with just the Acer start up screen and the clockwise cursor movement underneath before a blank screen before repeating itself again!

Can you power it off please.

Then hold ALT and with it held, power on the Acer and keep tapping F10 until you get to the recovery manager.

ok, now choose Troubleshoot, advance, system restore.

Follow the onscreen steps and perform a restore from the last restore point listed.
