My google toolbar is not working properly. It does not show

my google toolbar is not working properly. It does not show history or provide suggestions I believe that is called auto response.

Hi there and welcome

Please do the following in Internet Explorer

Click Tools (the gear wheel top right) than Internet Options

Click on the General Tab and Delete all Temporary Internet Files.

Than click the Advance Tab and click Reset

Then restart and tell me if it is now working please.

It is still not working. No auto response or browsing history is shown when typing

A few days ago from memory but was iffy when selecting the dropdown for previous searches

Ok, go to control panel and click on uninstall a program

Click on the tool bar and choose uninstall

Then restart

Once done, go to this link

https://www.google.com/toolbar/ie/install.html

Install it again and tell me if it now works correctly please

Delete all files and folders listed there, ignore any folders windows tells you are in use

Once done, restart and tell me how it now performs please

Still not working.900 files deleted are in waste basket. Have to go out for a bit. Will respond to your next suggestion when I return.

system restore

press enter

Follow the onscreen steps and perform a system restore choosing a restore date from when it was last working

Let this complete and when it has, tell me how it now performs please.

What if any data will I loose if I do this. Am reluctant as I have had system updates recently.

none of your personal data is effected, only any programs you installed since the last restore, which you can undo anyway after doing it

All seems to be resolved now thanks. Had some problems with my anti virus after the restore but these also resolved.
